Social Media Final Outcome
The theme of social media that i have chosen is "Why change yourself for social media?"
Many girls around the world feel insecure or self conscious because the way people make them feel on social media, people will write horrible comments on peoples photos and feel no guilt about it even if they make the person feel disgusting about themselves.
Girls and women have so many beauty products at home that will come to over 200 pounds, they will use all types of make-up to make their faces look thinner, their noses look smaller, to get their cheek bones to show, making their eyes look bigger and then before they upload the photo they will edit it on their phone, changing the effect on the photo, maybe change the colour of their eyes but they will make sure they look like every other girl on their web page.
Its pages like Facebook, Instagram and Twitter that make girls/women feel self conscious about themselves.
When it comes to someone going missing the police will want a photo which is more natural than a photo with editing and loads of make-up, it will make their job a lot easier if all of this stuff hasn't been done to the photos, because if you start feeling insecure at the age of 13 and start wearing all this make-up the only photos your parents will have of your natural self is the ones before the ages of 13 and that won't help if you go missing at the age of 16/17.
Being horrible to someone on social media can cause so many things e.g. anxiety, depression, insecurities and the worst of all suicide.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO THINK BEFORE THEY SAY SOMETHING HORRIBLE OR WRITE SOMETHING HORRIBLE TO SOMEONE ABOUT THEIR APPEARANCE, NOONE SHOULD HAVE TO GO THROUGH SOMETHING LIKE FEELING INSECURE.

Assignment ( Artist research and different developments)
Alexander Khokhlov - Photographer/Artist;
The reason why i have chosen this photographer/artist is because it ties in with everything i am doing, his work is full of face art and different textures.
He likes to transform people into different forms, the projects that he does combines techniques of face-art, photography and decoration.
What i liked most about his work is that he covers the models face, or he changes the effect on the model for a different outcome.
The social media outcome that i tried to work on is "why do girls change their appearance so much just to impress" so because they are editing their facial shape and adding on all of this make-up it changes everything about them, which is what Alexander has tried to do in his work.
All of Alexanders work have a different outcome they're not all the same, the way the make-up is applied, the lighting of the photo and the angle the photo's are taken at make every photo different - Its exactly the same with every girl they will use different shades of make-up, different lightings and they all use a different angle to take the photo because some people only like one side of their face.
Different developments (before and after);
All of the before photos are of girls/women without makeup on, all the after photos are go the girls/women with editing done to the facial shape, lighting and loads of make-up added to their faces.
All of them look perfectly fine without the make-up on, its social media like Instagram, Facebook and Twitter where girls/women get comments on their photos getting told if they're beautiful or not ... if they are going to get nice comments on how they look or horrible comments.
I used a range of techniques for editing the faces, once applying all of the makeup i had to download an app on to my iPhone to do some of the editing,
at home i edited the facial shapes on my computer and took the photos in different lighting.

Assignment proposal and my plan
Proposal;
For the assignment what I want to do is show how much girls edit themselves on social media just because they are insecure because of how people make them, to show other girls that it is ok not to wear makeup and if you do you only have to wear small amounts.
1) they do it because they want to change the way they look/be more popular
2) they're trying to be someone that they are not (covering who they are up)
3) they like the popularity of social media they want to have most attention that other girls get
But the main aim of this assignment is to get across different photos of before and after editing yourself on social media, like what if you go missing? All the photos your parents will have of you all natural will be when you were about 10, but what the police will need is a photo from now but if you have edited yourself so much by making your face look thinner, adding the different lightings to your face, adding all this makeup it is going to be harder for the police to search for you because you don't look like yourself.
My plan;
I will be using a couple of photos of girls and transforming them by editing the faces, adding make-up and then editing them again with an effect. I will put before and after photos to show what editing can actually do to someone.
After I've done all the editing i will be using photoshop to put the photos onto an instagram page, this page will only be for girls that wear make-up - i will be putting little bits of writing on there to show that its for girls who wear 100 percent make-up.
After I've done the first Instagram page i will make another one with someone wearing half make-up and half not with also editing so you can really see the difference in the face with the quote underneath the photo saying "Don't wear makeup just for social media"
I will print the final outcome out and upload everything i used and the final outcome to blogger.

self portrait
Self portrait project;
what i used for my self portrait project is a selection of photos;
- friends
- brother and sister
- my relationship
- on the floor is a family tree diagram
To make them look like they are just not stuck on the wall i put a shade next to the photo and underneath all of them.
As you can see on the floor there is a family tree diagram it did originally look like it was stuck to the floor but i multiplied the layer to get rid of the white background to make it look more natural.
I have spent a couple of weeks doing this project, i didn't want to rush it as i wanted it to seem like you were walking into a gallery of my life (what is most important to me) - friends, relationship and family.

New York skyline photoshop
Original photo of the New York skyline
After putting the original image of the photo into photoshop this was the end outcome, i don't know which photo i prefer as both photos have a different style - the original has an edit but of different colours reflecting and the image i did on photoshop has a different concept where the skyline has all been turned around.
Technique;
1) Add the image into photoshop
2) Go to image and then image size and put the size to the same as the height and uptick constrain proportions
3)Go back to image and select rotation to 180 degrees
4)Go to filter, disort and select polar coordinates
5) Select the part you want to blur together so the colour is not just a straight line.
